Friedrich Vollhardt is Professor of Modern German Literature at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich, with a focus on Early Modern Literature. His research primarily concerns modern literature, history of science and literature, aesthetics, and theory of literature.
In 2012, he was appointed as Senior Researcher in Residence at the Center for Advanced Studies. He is editor of several leading journals, such as Arbitrium, Aufklärung and Scientia Poetica, as well as author of numerous articles and book contributions. Gotthold Ephraim Lessing. Epoche und Werk (2018) is his latest book.
